Glow Baby Glow

Today, I have some exciting new products to show you lovely people. I have to admit, I’m quite proud of myself recently – I haven’t gone THAT crazy on the buying front. Just a few products here and there that I’ve accumulated over a period of 4 or 5 weeks. And now that I’ve sat down and collected them all, I’ve realised that they all follow a theme – a lovely, glowing, bronzed, fresh faced theme.

So it’s nearly summer. Ahhhhh. And I’m all for faking that bronzed goddess sort of look whilst I’m still sitting in my house. In Liverpool. Without ANY hint of a tan.

First up, let’s talk base. Now, if you’ve been following my blog then you know my love for a good base for my foundation and it pretty much comes in the form of my ‘Laura Mercier Radiance Primer.’ I’m OB-sessed with it. Recently I’ve been mixing an illuminating face cream with my foundation as well as using my radiance primer. I’ve tried different ones in the past but my recent purchase has been the ‘W7 Glow Guru’ in ‘Bare Glow.’ Now, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with this brand. I feel like there’s been a lot of hype over the W7 makeup brand recently, both good and bad. Yes, I’ve noticed that their products are packaged and marketed ever so similar to the more upscale brands out there, but I believe in most cases – imitation is the best form of flattery. Plus it gives gals like me a chance to try out products that are still of the same quality, just at a much lower price.

This illuminating face cream just adds a little more of a glow from within mixed in with my foundation and I have been enjoying adding it into my makeup routine!

Next up. Concealer. I am in LOVE with this concealer. I’m in love with the Healthy Mix foundation so when I saw the concealer I thought, why the bloody hell not. Once again it’s got a lovely little mix of vitamins in and is just a really amazing consistency and coverage without being so thick and cakey which some concealers can be. In terms of concealer, I do tend to go with a colour that is my actual skin tone just to actually conceal and then I will go over it with a lighter shade to highlight. I purchased the 52 medium shade and it fits my skin tone perfectly. You tha best Bourjois.

Okay, now for the GLOW. This has been in my collection for quite some time now and I’m really loving it. It’s the triple baked bronzer from ‘I Love Makeup’ which is a branch of the ‘Revolution’ makeup brand. And it’s just so pretty. The colours are amazing and it really gives your cheeks that natural flushed bronzed look. It’s definitely a drugstore dupe for the Too Faced heart bronzers, but again, a fraction of the price and I’m really impressed with the quality.

As you might be able to tell, I’ve been on a bit of a W7 hype. They stock this brand in the my local TJ Hughes at literally ridiculously low prices and I’ve seen them being promoted by some celebrity ‘influencers.’So I couldn’t resist. This ‘Honolulu’ is a dupe for the ‘Hoola’ Bronzer by Benefit (which I do own and love.) One thing I can say is that they are 2 completely different tones. This bronzer is a much more of an orangey brown tone which is great for dusting over your forehead and sculpting out your cheekbones. It’s soooo pigmented though so a little goes a long way. I literally tap the brush into the pot and blow half of it off and the colour pay off is still so strong. So I would go about this product with caution! But for the price (I think I purchased this for £2.99) I would recommend.

I love me some orange blusher. And this little multi tonal blusher from W7 is going to have me covered all summer long. This again, seems to be a dupe for the Benefit brand and their SugarBomb blusher but for a fraction of the price. It’s not as pigmented as the Honolulu bronzer but in a way I like that it needs to be built up – it creates a much more natural look than sweeping one big orange circle or stripe all over your face.

So my favourite product I’ve bought over the past month has been this Maybelline ‘Master Strobing Stick’ in the colour 200 Medium/Nude Glow. I love it. It’s so creamy and glides on any area you want highlighting with ease. It’s such a subtle hint of gold/orange and just blends like a dream (I’ve been using a Real Techniques Buffing Brush). It’s an amazing base to then add a little powder highlight on top. It really gives my face that natural glow.

My powder highlight of choice at the minute has been the ‘W7 Glowcomotion’ highlighting powder. I love highlighter and I love MACs ‘Soft & Gentle’ alongside my sacred Becca X Jaclyn Hill highlighting palette. So I’ve been pleasantly surprised in myself that I’ve been reaching for this product more than the higher end highlighters. It’s so subtle, I just sweep it over my cream highlight creating such a natural sheen.

Okay so finally, lips. Maybelline have brought out a new collection of 4-5 creamy matte nude colours and I’m in LOVE. They feel so soft and nourishing on your lips all whilst achieving that on trend matte lip. My first buy was the colour 932 Clay Crush which is a gorgeous muted orange/nude colour and it’s amazing with orange flushed cheeks. I feel so retro! I can’t wait to try the rest!

What are you go to products in the summer!?
