Wait a bloody minute. It’s October? Again!? It only seems like a minute ago me and my boyfriend had a whirlwind autumn and visited both Greece and Berlin. Now you’re trying to tell me that was almost a year ago!?
Anyway, whilst I try to gather how fast this year has gone, I’d like to say happy autumn and welcome to the best season of the year (in my opinion!) I love the ever so slightly darker nights but we’re still close enough to summer to enjoy some warmer days. It’s the perfect balance! PLUS autumn fashion just absolutely slays. DOUBLE PLUS…it’s my birthday month.
So here’s another favourites. I don’t do these every month because sometimes I just don’t have anything to rave about – I’ve been quite quiet on the buying front (for me anyway!) and have been trying to recirculate products that don’t tend to get that much TLC.
1. Eve Lom Radiance Perfected Flawless Primer
So Eve Lom is a brand that I’ve vaguely heard of – I’ve seen it the odd few times I’ve spent browsing online at Space NK but never really tried anything from their skincare or makeup line because in all honesty, it’s not in my price range! But then I got the absolute bargain of the century as Space NK were discontinuing some lines of Eve Lom makeup on their site. If I tell you I got the bargain of the century, then oh boy did I get the bargain of the century. £12! The primer is so moisturising and brightening and I feel confident enough to wear it alone with just a little concealer under the eyes! It comes out a white, quite thin consistency and just feels really light on the skin but leaves the most subtle glow. It’s just a great start to any makeup.
2. L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask
Every now and then, along side my bullet proof skincare routine (check it out here) I use the L’Oreal pure clay mask on my T Zone and chin area to give my skin a little detox. It sounds gross but I love seeing it dry and it getting into all my pores on my nose to clean them out. Anyone else?! If I’m feeling sassy I’ll even do a bit of multi-masking with the L’Oreal Pure Clay Glow mask and apply this to the rest of the face and this targets dullness whilst gently exfoliating. My skin is SUPER soft. Like SUPER.
3. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Pillow Talk & NYX Lip Lingerie in Silk Indulgent
I’ve been loving this combo over the past month – sticking true to my nudes I’ve been wearing my official number one favourite lipstick – Pillow Talk by Charlotte Tilbury in a lovely silky nude/brown colour and then popping a little bit of a lighter nude with pink undertones over it. This lip lingerie dries matte and it just leaves a lovely flush on the lips without being ‘over pink’ (ya get me?) and without making me look too pale and sick. I also don’t really like lips that look too ‘done’ so to make it a bit more a lived in lip, I kiss the back of my hand a couple of times to get some excess product off.
4. Makeup Revolution Sculpt & Contour Kit (in CO4)
I’ve actually been really impressed with this contouring palette so it’s going right into this favourites post. I have a lot of contouring products in my makeup collection from cream contour palettes, cream sticks to other mini palettes & singular powders. You name it. So for £3.50 there wasn’t much to lose, and everything to gain. The bronzer on the left is quite dark and pretty pigmented so you only need a little on your brush to chisel out your cheekbones and the blusher on the right is just a perfect bronzed orange/brown to give a youthful flush.
5. ASOS Open Triangle Drop Earrings
Statement earrings are back. Now, I’ve been a hoop fan for as long as I can remember. Every ‘out out’ outfit is not complete without a set of big gold hoops in my opinion. But I’m loving branching out to other various shapes and styles. These are perfect for me because they’re something a little different without being too out there. See for me, I dress quite plain at times so earrings like this allow to be a bit more SASS. For £8, you can’t go wrong. ASOS are fab for accessories at such reasonable prices, check them out!
6. Chases of the Light – A Selection of Poems
This is my first book in a favourites post and it holds quite a lot of sentimental value. I received it off my boyfriend as a gift for being a Godmother for the first time. Cute AF. Even just reading the blurb on the back of this book had me watering at the eyes – because I’m an emotional mess. It’s such an amazing little collection of poems about life and the world around us but more predominately on love. I read a poem or two every night before bed. I have my favourites I read over and over but all in all, I love how they read like a stream of consciousness – there’s no barrier between us and the poets true feelings. It’s great.
What’s everyone been loving this month?
